Right Back To You
Fetty Wap, Adrienne Rich, Yung Miami, Guy, Kehlani, and much more.
Good evening and welcome back to Vinson Cunningham’s Quiet Storm.
I made a playlist to send you all on January 7th, and somehow I never sent it. Here it is.
Since then, I’ve been listening to more Bruce Hornsby than really makes sense. Kehlani is involved as well.
The New York Knicks are going to the N.B.A. Finals. Everything tastes better. You really can’t say it enough!
Sonny Rollins died this week. I don’t think I’ve ever been more moved and inspired by an anecdote from an artist’s life as I am by the story of Rollins vanishing from the public aspect of his “career” and almost every day for more than a year practicing his music on the Williamsburg Bridge. What a truly great musician. I have been attending with great awe to his solo concert played in the sculpture garden at the Museum of Modern Art. I was directed there by this brilliant Richard Brody tribute.
Hope you enjoy this week’s tunes. Who knew Adrienne Rich and Denise Levertov did a record together?
Until next time—Storm On and Go Knicks:
A few weeks back I wrote about Justin Bieber and his Coachella.
